Is ‘AGT’ Coming Back In 2021? Here Are All The Details

[Updated Feb. 24, 2021] If you’re a fan of the show, you might be wondering if AGT 2021 is still on for this year. Between the pandemic and Simon Cowell’s back injury, will the show still be returning for Season 16?

Is ‘AGT’ Coming Back In 2021?

Although Britain’s Got Talent has been put on hold until 2022, the same hasn’t been announced for AGT 2021. As of right now, it looks like Season 16 is happening.

Although a premiere date hasn’t been announced, the official AGT Instagram bio currently reads, “#AGT is now streaming on @peacocktv and returning this year for an all-new season on @nbc.”

America’s Got Talent’s Twitter just announced today that it will infect be back and that virtual auditions are happening as we speak. The panel remains the same as we had predicted!

Who Are The Judges For ‘AGT’ 2021?

The judges for Season 16 have not been officially announced yet. Last year, Simon Cowell, Heidi Klum, Howie Mandel, and Sofia Vergara sat at the judges’ table.

The AGT website still lists these four stars as the show’s judges, with Terry Crews listed as host. We’ll have to wait and see if all of them return for the new season.

Will Simon Cowell Be Back On ‘AGT’?

Last year, Simon Cowell broke his back in an electric bicycle accident and had to have surgery. While he recovered, he unfortunately missed the live shows on both AGT and BGT.

However, Simon is now back on his feet, and had even planned to start filming BGT earlier this year before it was postponed. All signs point to Simon returning for the new season of AGT.

When Will ‘AGT’ Be On TV?

A premiere date hasn’t been officially announced, but America’s Got Talent usually airs during the summer. Last year, the show premiered on May 26.

However, the show’s auditions website states that hopefuls will be trying out for “America’s Got Talent 2021-22.” This makes us wonder if the show will premiere later in the year and go into 2022.

AGT airs on NBC. Last season, the show was broadcast on Tuesdays at 8 pm ET/PT, with live results shows on Wednesday nights. You can also watch it the next day on NBC.com, Hulu, and Peacock.

How Do You Get On ‘America’s Got Talent’ 2021?

Virtual auditions for Season 16 of America’s Got Talent started last November. Hopefuls have the opportunity to share their talent with producers.

The good news is that auditions are still happening! AGT recently announced on Instagram that last chance auditions will take place on March 6, 2021. Head over to the auditions website to register.

You can also submit an audition video instead of trying out face to face. The audition website states, “We watch every video.” Good luck if you’re planning to audition!

How Much Does The ‘AGT’ Winner Get?

The winner of America’s Got Talent receives a $1 million prize. Last year, poet Brandon Leake won the show. He later revealed that he planned to use the money to pay off his student loan debt.

In 2019, singer Kodi Lee won the show. He told Talent Recap he wanted to use his prize money to buy grand pianos “in every color.”
