Illusionist David Blaine unfortunately dislocated his shoulder during a magic act at Resorts World in Las Vegas, Nevada. By good luck, there were medical professionals in the crowd to aid the injury.
David Blaine Injured His Shoulder During Las Vegas Act
Performing a stunt during a Las Vegas show, Blaine originally planned to land safely as he falls 80 feet into a pile of cardboard boxes. Yet, his vision unluckily didn’t happen. He rather injured himself in the middle of his performance, causing panic in the whole auditorium.
However, while the possibility of a serious injury is there, Blaine chose to play it cool. He dealt with the issue on stage, asking the crowd if there’s actually a doctor from the audience who could help him place his bone back in place.
“There were four orthopedic doctors in the audience along with my EMS team who came up and took great care of me,” Blaine said. “I am humbled by the encouragement I received from the audience and was somehow able to finish the show.”
After the shocking event, Blaine went to Instagram to jokingly reflect about the issue. He posted the video taken when doctors attempted to fix his joints. He then hilariously wrote a short caption: “Wow that hurt!”

Fans are Relieved that He’s Okay
In the comment section, his followers were quick to show their shock and concern after seeing the video. Some fans are apparently unaware of the context of the video, so one user explained the same and reflected on the experience.
“I was at the show. It was a surreal experience but he refused to be taken to the hospital and continued on with the show. His shoulder even dislocated again but he just kept going. Respect to that man,” the user said.
Meanwhile, another follower manifested their concern by suggesting that Blaine should lie low in death-defying stunts for the meantime.
“Dude just go back to the card tricks. Low risk, high entertainment,” one person wrote. “We don’t wanna see u hurt.”
Blaine will return to the Resorts World Theater on April 28 and 29 for another set of shows for his In Spades residency.
