It’s no secret that Britain’s Got Talent is one of the largest stages in the United Kingdom. Do you have a talent? Have you ever thought about showing it off in front of Simon Cowell? Here’s how to audition for Britain’s Got Talent series 16.

ITV producers will soon be looking for the next BGT stars as soon as series 15 airs this spring. If you think you have what it takes to impress judges, you should audition for the next series. The producers will separate the great from the not-so-great acts and choose the lucky groups that will face Simon Cowell. You should audition, even if the thought of performing for Cowell scares you.

How to Audition for Britain’s Got Talent

Acts can audition for Britain’s Got Talent by video and WhatsApp. When auditioning via video, acts will be prompted to fill out basic questions about themselves to create a Performer Profile.

Next, the website will prompt them to upload a video audition. For the video audition, BGT recommends that acts follow five rules. The most important are perform as if you’re in front of the judges and make sure every person in the act is seen. They prefer acts to film from a wide angle with the camera that is as still as possible. Singers are asked not to use vocal effects or sing over the original artist’s track. Instead, they are allowed to use a backing track, instrument, or sing a capella.

Based on the video audition, producers can reach out to applicants. Producers can choose to invite applicants to attend an audition at the time and place of their choosing. If you’re unable to attend this audition, you may still be considered for a second round audition. Acts that have been selected to audition by researchers are required to audition on the same basis as other acts. An application does not guarantee an in person audition.

Contestants must be at least 18 years old when auditioning for BGT. If a contestant is under 18 years old, they must be accompanied by their parent and/or legal guardian at their audition. The series requires proof of age for auditions. Those in close relation to employees of iTV, FremantleMedia Limited, Maidmental Limited, or any associated company, are prohibited from auditioning. Employees of the listed companies are also prohibited from auditioning.

What Are the Next Steps?

Producers typically have acts go through several levels of auditioning before they take to the stage in front of the judges. This process typically takes at least two or three months. After that time, acts will know if they will take to the stage on national TV.

The national stage is the first point in which acts meet the celebrity judges. Although iTV has not confirmed the judges for next season, it’s safe to assume long time judges, Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon, and David Walliams will return. Good luck with your audition, we hope to see you on the big stage!
