‘The Voice’ Team Nick Star Allegra Miles Impresses on ‘American Idol’

If American Idol Season 20 contestant Allegra Miles looks familiar to you, it’s probably because you saw her on The Voice Season 18. Allegra competed on Team Nick in 2020, making it to the Semifinals with her powerful voice.
‘The Voice’ Artist Allegra Miles Auditions for ‘American Idol’
For her American Idol audition, Allegra played the piano and sang an original song called “Tainted,” showing off an incredible talent. The judges were impressed, as Luke Bryan told the 18-year-old, “Everything about you is looking like an artist.”
Lionel Richie complimented Allegra’s songwriting talent. He was the first to say yes, with Bryan and Katy Perry following suit. Allegra earned a Golden Ticket, and we’ll see her soon at Hollywood Week to find out if she’ll make it to the next stage of the competition.
Allegra competed on The Voice at age 16, turning Nick Jonas and Kelly Clarkson’s chairs with her Blind Audition to “Use Somebody” by King of Leon. She chose to join Jonas’ team, going on to win both her Battle and Knockout. Her coach saved her in the Live Playoffs, but she was unfortunately eliminated in the Semifinals.
Because Season 18 aired at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, Allegra and her fellow contestants had to deliver live performances from home. In the Live Playoffs, Allegra sang “New York State of Mind” by Billy Joel from her home in West Palm Beach, Florida.

Allegra Started Writing Songs at 12 Years Old
Allegra was born in San Diego but spent five years living in St. John, U.S. Virgin Islands, before moving to Florida. She started playing piano at 4 years old and began playing guitar and writing her own songs at age 12.
At age 13, Allegra performed at Carnegie Hall, winning first place as a soloist in the 2016 American Protégé vocal competition. The singer grew up in a musical family, as her mother is a music therapist and her family has played open mic nights together.
Over the past few years, Allegra has released several singles. You can currently stream her American Idol audition song, “Tainted.” She also frequently posts performance videos on Instagram, where she has over 42,000 followers.
