How Heidi Klum REALLY Feels About Leni Going Off to College in New York

Heidi Klum has recently opened up about her eldest daughter going off to college in New York City. Here’s how the international superstar really feels about her daughter’s next chapter in a different state.
Heidi Klum made national headlines yesterday as she announced her daughter’s next chapter in life. If you didn’t know, the model’s daughter Leni, is set to attend college in New York City this fall. Although it was previously reported that Klum is “preparing for heartbreak,” she is now “trying not to freak out.”
“I am trying not to freak out, I’m trying not to freak out because we all have to do this at some point,” she said. “We all have to leave the nest. You can’t forever live with your parents.”
Even though she will miss her daughter at home, she understands that this is a normal part of life. Nonetheless, it’s still hard for her to see her daughter leave the nest.
“Sometimes I sit at the dinner table and it’s my husband, the four kids, and sometimes I’m like I’ll be right back,” she said. “I’ll literally go and cry somewhere and come back, because it’s so sad… I don’t know when I’ll get this moment again.”
When it comes to Klum’s nerves about her daughter’s departure, she’s acknowledged that Leni will be okay in New York City. Reportedly Leni is comfortable in Manhattan because they lived there while Heidi filmed Project Runway.
Leni Klum is NOT Turning Away From Her Modeling Career
Even though Leni Klum is moving out of California, she’s not turning away the modeling career she has. Heidi Klum has reported that her daughter plans to continue pursuing a career as a model throughout her college journey.
“She’s doing everything at the same time,” Klum said. “It’s also crazy, when they get the schedule they do a few hours and that’s it for the day. It’s very different here.”
Outside of modeling, Klum gushed, stating that her daughter knows how to sing, as well as play the piano and ukulele. The America’s Got Talent judge discussed Freckled Zelda as her daughter’s inspiration in that aspect. Maybe she’ll also follow in her mother’s footsteps by beginning a music career.
