Alex said his performance has led people to “come out of the woodwork” to look for him. That includes his ex-girlfriend. Alex said she “reached out” about the song, and they “had a nice, long conversation.” He said she was “very supportive” and “very proud” of him.
“I thanked her for breaking my heart,” Alex joked. However, he said she doesn’t want him back now. “She’s got her fella and everything, and it’s fine.”
How Did Alex Feel About Luke Bryan’s Response?
American Idol judge Luke Bryan was so impressed by Alex’s performance that he suggested the young singer should perform at the Grand Ole Opry, saying he’d make a call.

“That meant the world to me,” Alex said on Ryan’s show. “The Grand Ole Opry is a place that I’ve dreamed about playing ever since I was a little, bitty boy. So for him say that was almost like a dream come true.”
Ryan said they’d have to “follow up with Luke” about his promise to make a call for Alex. “That’s right. I’ll hold him to that now,” Alex said.
The Kentucky singer added that he’s been snowed in on his farm. He said they’ve been putting six or seven rolls of hay out per day for the cows since November.
