Hayley Erbert Celebrates Christmas with Husband Derek Hough After Surgery

Hayley Erbert and Derek Hough celebrated their first Christmas together as a married couple earlier this week, as Erbert recovers from skull surgery. Erbert shared a sweet photo with Hough kissing next to the Christmas tree.

Earlier this week, Erbert shared her first new Instagram post since being hospitalized and diagnosed with a cranial hematoma from a burst blood vessel. The dancer underwent an emergency craniectomy and later a cranioplasty to replace part of her skull.
Erbert shared a photo of her and Hough sitting beside the Christmas tree sharing a kiss. In the shot, Erbert wears a green polka-dot scarf on her head to match her green pajamas. Hough sports a cozy white shirt.
“Wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas!” Erbert wrote in the post’s caption. “Cherishing the greatest gift of all. The precious gift of life and the love we share. Hold your loved ones close and treasure every moment.”
This was Erbert and Hough’s first Christmas together as a married couple. The two dancers tied the knot in August of this year. They first started dating in 2015 and got engaged last year.

Friends and Co-Stars Shared Their Love with Erbert
The comments on Erbert’s latest post are full of loving and supportive comments from the couple’s family, friends, and Dancing with the Stars co-stars. Hough’s sister Julianne called Erbert “our Christmas miracle.”
DWTS co-host Alfonso Ribeiro wrote, “Love you guys. Merry Christmas. Looking great.” The show’s judge Carrie Ann Inaba commented that she was “sending you so much love.” Pro dancer Peta Murgatroyd wrote simply, “Love you Hayley.”
Erbert and Hough were performing their Symphony of Dance tour when Erbert was hospitalized earlier this month. The remaining dates on the tour have since been canceled, to be rescheduled at a later date.
