Jack Higgins moved the entire world with his emotional Season 10 Britain’s Got Talent audition. The dancer from Liverpool had a whole fan club of people supporting him as he opened up about being bullied in school. His contemporary dance to “Say Something” by A Great Big World and Christina Aguilera left both he and the audience in tears.

Jack Higgins Proves Bullies Wrong With Emotional Routine on ‘Britain’s Got Talent’

Jack fell in love with ballet dancing and knew that he wanted to pursue dance for the rest of his life. When he started ballet, people called him names, which said made him upset. Through it all, dance was the one thing that kept him happy.

Jack performed the heartbreaking dance routine for his big audition and was met with thunderous applause from the audience. He broke down and was holding back his tears as the judges gave him their critiques. David Walliams compared him to Billy Elliot. Walliams applauded him for his “passion and commitment” while he dances. His compliments left Jack bursting out crying after trying to hold it in.

Simon Cowell told Jack that bullies don’t like it when people do well. The judges encouraged him to continue to follow his passion. They all voted him through to the next round of the competition. Ahead of his Semi-Finals performance, Jack took a fall at rehearsal but did not let it set him back at all. He danced to “Alive” by Sia and stood on a platform while rain fell down onto the stage. He got a standing ovation from the judges and the audience.

Jack’s fate in the competition came down to the judge’s votes at the end of the episode. Walliams and Alesha Dixon voted to keep Jack in the competition. Cowell and Amanda Holden voted to keep his Golden Buzzer Boogie Storm in the competition. The tie was broken by the publics’ votes which were in favor of Boogie Storm. Jack was sent home and many were shocked he didn’t earn enough votes to stay in the competition.

Where is Jack Now?

Jack is the cousin of fellow Season 10 Britain’s Got Talent finalist Beau Dermott. Beau was Amanda Holden’s Golden Buzzer. He revealed that it was a coincidence that they were both on the same season of the show. Jack had auditioned for the show in 2014 but failed to make it past the judges. His second time around was definitely worth the wait because it launched his dancing career.

After competing on Britain’s Got Talent, Jack got to meet Dance Moms star Abby Lee Miller. He appeared on the UK version of the show before his big audition. In 2019, Jack signed a contract with Royal Caribbean to perform on their cruise line. He spent 75 days at sea and 15 days in isolation due to the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020 before returning home.

Jack was able to return to performing aboard the cruise ship in May 2021. He is currently in quarantine aboard the ship and posting a ton of dancing videos to keep himself busy. He also has a second Instagram account where he posts all of his choreography.
