It was recently announced that English TV presenter Bradley Walsh is sitting in for Simon Cowell as a guest judge during several auditions on the new season of Britain’s Got Talent. Could Walsh end up replacing Cowell permanently on the show’s panel?
Could Bradley Walsh Replace Simon Cowell on BGT?
Simon Cowell is still recovering from a recent back surgery, so he has had to sit out several BGT Series 20 audition tapings in Blackpool, England. Sitting in for him on the panel (alongside regular judges Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon, and KSI) is Bradley Walsh, host of the UK game show The Chase.
Filming for the new season began earlier this week, and according to The Sun, Walsh’s addition to the show’s judging panel has been a success. The outlet reports that Walsh had fellow judge Amanda Holden “in hysterics” and won over the audience with his knowledge and humor.
Walsh apparently even serenaded the crowd with a cover of “That’s Life” by Frank Sinatra during a break in filming, earning a standing ovation and prompting KSI to pretend to press the Golden Buzzer for him.
“Simon might be sweating when he sees just how good Bradley is in his chair,” a source said. “He seemed a little nervous at first but soon looked like he’d been running the show for years.”

Walsh Brings a ‘Different Energy’ to the Panel
Bradley Walsh has reportedly been very supportive of the acts auditioning for the show, even giving asking a stand-up comedian to leave the stage before his set so he could give him an introduction as he walked out.
“Bradley’s been in the business for 40 years, he knows how tough it is to be on the other side of this, so has been helping the acts get the best out of this opportunity,” The Sun‘s source shared. “He’s brought a different energy to the panel. Simon might want to hurry back before Bradley makes himself too comfortable.”
