Christina Aguilera is Working on a New Spanish-Language Album
Former The Voice coach Christina Aguilera is giving fans a lot to look forward to. The singer is currently working on two new albums, including a Spanish-language release.
This isn’t the first time Aguilera has recorded an album in Spanish, but it’s been over 20 years since the last. Aguilera’s father is Ecuadorian and she grew up speaking Spanish. Although most of her career has been in English, the pop star already has one Latin Grammy Award. Her previous Spanish record topped the Billboard Top Latin Albums for 19 consecutive weeks.

Aguilera told Health magazine that she’s been working on two albums at once.
“I’m months away from anything being announced. I’m simultaneously working on my English record and the follow-up to my debut Spanish album — about 20 years overdue,” she said.

“I’m a perfectionist and want to give everything my best — especially because of the soul-searching I’ve done over the past year and the new perspective I have,” Aguilera continued. “I am reinspired and have reconnected with myself. I’ve fallen in love with music all over again, which is a really big thing to say, having spent my entire career in music.”
In 2000, Aguilera released her first Spanish-language album, Mi Reflejo. It featured five Spanish versions of songs on her self-titled debut album, as well as four original tracks and two covers.
Mi Reflejo was the best-selling Latin pop album of the year, and spent 19 weeks at the top of the charts for Latin Albums and Latin Pop Albums. Lead single, “Ven Conmigo (Solamente Tú),” was a Spanish version of her hit “Come on Over Baby (All I Want Is You).”
When Was Aguilera’s Last Album?
Aguilera’s most recent album, Liberation, was released in 2018. It included the singles “Accelerate” and “Fall in Line,” featuring Demi Lovato. Aguilera’s previous album, Lotus, was released six years prior.
