Country superstar Carrie Underwood turns 37 today! We were first introduced to her when she was just 21 on season 4 of American Idol. Now she is a music icon that has truly influenced country music and proves that you can make it big from talent competitions like American Idol.
‘American Idol’ Audition That Changed Carrie Underwood’s Life
Underwood’s American Idol audition was only the start of an outpouring of support from fans around the nation. She was met with positive critiques each week from the judges and it was later revealed that she dominated the voting each and every week during the live shows. It was no surprise when she beat out the competition and took home the prize. She went straight to work right away and began working on original music.

Her Music Has Topped The Charts
She went on to release her first single “Inside Your Heaven” that debuted at number one on the Billboard Hot 100. This was just the start of her becoming a chart-topping success with her original music. Her first album, Some Hearts, became the best-selling album of 2006.

All six of her albums have had major success. Her second album, Carnival Ride and third album Play On topped the Billboard 200. Her fourth album Blown Away topped the country albums chart and swept most categories at the CMT Awards in 2012. She has gone on multiple headlining world tours since the start of her career. She performed at last year’s American Idol finale.
Carrie Has Won A Ton Of Awards
Grammys, Country Music Awards, you name it and she has won it. Underwood has been nominated for 14 Grammy awards and has won seven of them. She has won 14 ACM Awards and is the first woman to ever receive the Entertainer of the Year Award twice. She has won fifteen AMAs and made history by winning Favorite Country Album for every single one of the studio albums she released. She has also hosted the CMA Awards for the past 12 years.
Carrie Underwood Is An Author Now Too
Just when you thought she couldn’t get any more successful, Underwood just released her first book, Find Your Path. It is a book that discusses Underwood’s fitness journey and how she plans to keep a healthy lifestyle for the rest of her life.
She is now a wife and a mother to two boys, and there is no doubt that she will continue to release music that tops the charts and continues to break records.
