‘America’s Got Talent’ Dominates The Night In Ratings

As comes as no surprise, the premiere of America’s Got Talent on Tuesday night handily beat every other show in the ratings. It’s no surprise seeing as that the last season of AGT was one of the highest rated shows of the year. While it is a hair down in its premiere from last year, it still looks like it’s going to dominate.

AGT on Tuesday night got a 2.4 share or around 12 million viewers. That’s more than The Voice or American Idol got all season. It beat the next highest rated show, World of Dance with Jennifer Lopez, by nearly 5 million viewers. That’s huge. It just goes to show that the Got Talent format just plain works. Because it’s not a pure singing competition show, it has a little something for everyone. You want singers? They’ve got them? Magicians? Sure. Whatever the hell Sacred Riana is? Yes!

I have a feeling that AGT is going to make a ridiculous amount of money and that Simon is going to be able to buy himself lots of new deep V-neck t-shirts.
