Casey Bishop, who placed fourth in Season 19 of American Idol, has a new song out called “Bad Dream.” On the track, the 17-year-old singer shows off the rock-and-roll style that got her so far on the show.

Casey Bishop Releases New Song ‘Bad Dream’

News broke last November that Casey had signed a record deal with 19 Recordings and publishing partner BMG and was working on music for an upcoming EP. The singer went on to tease some new music on her Instagram earlier this year.

“Bad Dream” was co-written by Casey and several others, including Willow Smith, and produced by Chris Greatti. Upon the track’s release, Casey thanked fans for their support and wrote, “I love this song so much.”

The song is a catchy pop-rock tune with eerie lyrics in which Casey sings, “Is this a bad dream? / Don’t know what is happening / Every time I think of you it’s so paralyzing / And I’m trying to wake up.”

Casey also released a visualizer to go along with the release. The video is a behind-the-scenes clip of Casey recording the song and also possibly shooting the official music video. We’ll have to wait and see if and when she releases that.

Casey Made It to Fourth Place on ‘Idol’

Casey auditioned for Season 19 of American Idol when she was just 15 years old. She turned 16 during the course of the season, and her unique rocker talent took her all the way to the Top 4. The singer wasn’t afraid to be herself when picking songs.

During her time on the show, she sang everything from “Black Hole Sun” by Soundgarden to “Over the Rainbow” from The Wizard of Oz. She also released an original single called “Love Me, Leave Me.”

Before her elimination from the competition, Casey teamed up with the season’s winner Chayce Beckham to perform a duet of “Break My Heart Again” by FINNEAS. She may not have won the show, but we’re looking forward to hearing more from her in the future.
