After her surprising elimination from American Idol last night, Casey Bishop penned a touching goodbye to fans on Instagram. Casey made it to the Top 4 on Idol this season and released her original song ‘Love Me, Leave Me’ last week.
Casey was a frontrunner in the competition this season with her unique style and constant improvement. During her audition, Luke Bryan even predicted that Casey could be the season winner. At just 15 years old, Casey was the youngest person in the Top 4. Last night, she gave one of her most powerful performances to date. Unfortunately, it wasn’t enough to send her through to the next round. Although I’m sure Casey will have plenty keeping her busy in the coming weeks.
“every ending is a new beginning,” she wrote on Instagram. “thank you all for everything you do i’m so blessed. last night was everything i could’ve asked for and more, i had a freaking blast. finally getting to sing on stage with my favorite person @chaycebeckhammusic was just magical🖤 love you all so much, this is only THE BEGINNING.”
Casey Bishop, Chayce Beckham Perform Duet of “Break My Heart Again”
Chayce also posted a tribute to Casey after the results were announced:
“So many dreams came true tonight. Making it to the finale on American idol, 23 got to #1 on the iTunes Charts, both country and all genres, and I finally got to sing with Casey on stage!”
The duet of “Break My Heart Again” by this week’s mentor FINNEAS featured shockingly strong vocals by Casey and perfect harmonies with Chayce. By the end of the performance, all three judges were on their feet.
After her solo performances of “Wish You Were Gay” by Billie Eilish and an encore of her audition song “Live Wire” by Mötley Crüe, the judges were equally impressed. Lionel Richie was left nearly speechless:
“What was that? Live Wire! Forget about everything you can be so whimsical and then right in the middle of this whole thing you drop the bomb! I loved it,” he said. “I want front row seats and backstage passes.”
Casey’s single “Love Me, Leave Me,” which Katy Perry announced to be her new favorite song, is available now on streaming platforms. I’m sure we can expect more to come from this powerhouse in the next few weeks.
