‘American Idol’ Star Announces First Pregnancy

American Idol Season 22 finalist Emmy Russell recently had some exciting news to share with fans. The 25-year-old singer, who is the granddaughter of iconic country singer Loretta Lynn, announced that she’s pregnant with her first child.

According to People, Russell shared the news with fans on a live taping of the Got It from My Momma podcast, on which she appeared with her mother Patsy last month. Host Jennifer Vickery Smith teased that Russell had “some special news to share tonight.”
“Y’all, Tyler and me are expecting a baby girl,” Russell said, referring to her partner, 40-year-old singer Tyler Ward — who then joined Russell on stage to touch her baby bump. “I’m so excited that right out of American Idol – I didn’t know. So, you know, that’s kind of been the journey. I’m so excited.”
Russell competed on Season 22 of American Idol last year, making it all the way to the Top 5 after auditioning with an original song called “Skinny.” During the season, Russell also covered her grandmother’s famous song “Coal Miner’s Daughter.”

Who Is Russell’s Partner, Tyler Ward?
Russell’s partner is fellow singer Tyler Ward, who earned a following through his YouTube performances. Ward currently has close to 2 million subscribers on the platform, and he released his debut album Honestly in 2013.
He and Russell have kept their relationship pretty private, although they have posted together on social media in recent months. In November, Ward shared a photo of himself and Russell alongside Vice President Kamala Harris and Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff at the White House.
