‘AGT’ Alum Gabriel Brown Is the Voice Behind Puppet Simon Cowell
Reading Time: 2 minutes
One of the weirdest auditions from this week’s new episode of America’s Got Talent came from Puppet Simon & the Cow Belles. The act featured a puppet version of Simon Cowell, with someone impersonating him and singing. That someone has turned out to be Gabriel Brown, who competed last season.
Gabriel Brown Is Behind Puppet Simon Cowell on AGT
Tuesday’s audition started with the Cow Belles (a group of female puppets) sharing their love for judge Simon Cowell and singing “Toxic” by Britney Spears. A puppet version of Cowell himself then popped up to sing “Somebody to Love” by Queen.
During the show, Gabriel Brown of the Brown Brothers retweeted a video of the performance and wrote, “Dang, that Simon puppet sure sounds familiar…”
Brown is known for his musical impressions, which he showed off alongside his brother Nate during Season 17. Now he’s back competing on the new season, this time without showing his face. He wrote in another tweet that it was “extremely challenging to sing a Queen song while hunched over like that.”
One of Brown’s fans also put together that a TikTok video he posted in March was from rehearsing the audition. He showed himself crouched down with a blanket over his head as he sang “Somebody to Love.”

The Act Received Three ‘Yes’ Votes
You might see Puppet Simon & the Cow Belles return for another performance later this season, as they received three “yes” votes from the judges to move on. Unfortunately, Sofia Vergara wasn’t impressed enough to vote “yes.”
Vergara actually ended up arguing back and forth with Puppet Simon during her critique, as he told her he’s “been doing this a little longer than you.” Vergara shot back by saying he’s “a lot older than me.” Puppet Simon told her, “You’re fired.”
“I’m not a huge fan of these kind of acts,” the real Cowell said. “But I thought that was really funny. And you’re very charismatic, by the way.”
