This rockstar has a lot of fight left in him. After battling a diagnosis of stage five kidney disease, The Voice U.K. star Adam Isaac makes his return to music. The singer now has a brand new album after dealing with his life-threatening illness. Isaac made it to the finals on The Voice U.K. back in 2012. Today, he shares his story of triumph in anticipation of his new project.
Adam Isaac Shares His At Home Dialysis Treatment
Isaac opened up in a video with Devon Live to share his journey. In November last year, Isaac was diagnosed with stage five kidney failure due to a rare disease known as IgA Nephropathy. Since then, the performer had no choice but to focus on his health. At home, he follows a regimented dialysis treatment for his condition. He showed his equipment to the viewers, and explained his daily process for self-treatment. Isaac is currently awaiting a kidney transplant as he keeps his condition stable with dialysis four times a day.
Now, the artist is finally putting his efforts back into music. Last year, Isaac began to turn his life experiences into songs of positivity. He hoped to one day record his new album and perform with the original band he played with at his sold out Exeter Phoenix show in 2013. Before his diagnosis, the 37-year-old had been performing original and cover music around Europe and the U.K. Currently, Isaac has teamed up with music promoter Sarah Lacey for The Loft Live Sessions event at The Corn Barn Cullompton.
This show, featuring The Voice alum and his band, will take place on August 25. All proceeds from this amazing event will benefit Isaac’s new album. It is currently being recorded by the Brighton-based band, Will & The People.
The Artist Before and After The Voice U.K.
The singer/songwriter has amassed years of experience before taking on his blind audition on The Voice. Isaac has had the opportunity to build his craft while playing many venues and festivals around the U.K. At these events, he has supported the likes of renowned chart toppers like ASH, Joss Stone, and Toploader. In 2012, Isaac auditioned for The Voice with “Maybe Tomorrow,” and turned the chairs of coaches Will.i.am and Sir Tom Jones. He ultimately chose Jones to mentor his journey, and made it all the way to the Quarter Final stage that season.
After the show, Isaac released an album entitled Train Tracks, and went on to tour his music on a busy gig circuit. The artist has since traveled the world playing in both full band and acoustic shows.
“For me, music is all about sharing energy with an audience; not being pretty around the edges, but going out there and capturing a moment with other people,” he shares on his website bio.
His musical style is described as a mixture of pop/rock originals and funky mashup covers. His versatility allows him to adapt to any acoustic atmosphere at his shows. You can book your tickets today to see Isaac perform live in anticipation of his upcoming album. Catch him at The Loft Live Sessions Event on August 25.
