Xochitl Gomez Injures Ankle Ahead of DWTS
For this week’s Music Video Night, Xochitl and her partner Val Chmerkovskiy will be dancing a Jazz routine to “Hollaback Girl” by Gwen Stefani. During camera blocking on Monday, Xochitl suffered an injury to her ankle.
The actress shared a video of the moment the injury happened on TikTok. While attempting a cartwheel, Xochitl landed on the outside of her ankle. Xochitl referenced this week’s song choice by writing in the caption, “This shiiii is BANANAS!”
The video also features a shot of Xochitl’s ankle being wrapped. You might think the injury looked bad enough that she wouldn’t be able to dance, but Xochitl wrote in the caption that it was a “lil sprain,” adding, “WE WORKIN!”
She added in the comments, “I’m good!! I will be there tomorrow and we ballin!”

Xochitl Also Faced an Injury Last Week
The DWTS competition hasn’t exactly been smooth sailing for Xochitl in recent weeks. Last week, she was in visible pain after her Contemporary routine. Chmerkovskiy had to carry her down the steps of the stage to talk to the judges.
After the show, Xochitl shared a photo on Instagram showing her knee wrapped in a bandage. She explained in the comments that she hit her knee on the altar they were using for the routine. Xochitl added, “Just a bruise and a cut, but it’s crazy to have that happen during live TV.”
The injury didn’t stop Xochitl from earning a combined score of 37 out of 40 for the routine, including a 10 from guest judge Niecy Nash. Hopefully her ankle is feeling better by Tuesday night’s live episode on ABC and Disney+.
