Wyatt Pike Did NOT Fight Luke Bryan Despite Conspiracy Theories
Reading Time: 4 minutes
On April 12, Ryan Seacrest announced that standout American Idol contestant Wyatt Pike dropped out of the competition. The 20-year-old confirmed that he left for “personal reasons” after rumors began swirling that he got into a fist fight with judge Luke Bryan that got him kicked out of the competition.
Rumors of Luke Bryan, Wyatt Pike Fight Stem From Social Media Theories
This rumor first started over on Twitter, naturally. A fan account posted a parody tweet after Seacrest announced Pike would no longer be competing. Bryan missed the same episode due to his COVID-19 diagnosis, adding fuel to the rumor.
“I heard Wyatt beat @LukeBryanOnline up pretty badly and was suspended from the show (That’s why Luke is gone tonight, according to TMZ hospital records),” the since-deleted tweet said.

“For those concerned, apparently @WyattPike is being held at West Hollywood Jail under a 200k bond. TMZ says he has been sent to solitary confinement after an angry bite to a guard. No comment from @LukeBryanOnline.”
On a night when everyone was searching for answers about what really happened to Pike, some took these tweets seriously. One TikTok user posted a video where she included screenshots of the tweets and explained why she believed the story.
Bryan’s Wife Puts an End to the Rumors
The TikTok user posted another video in response to comments about Bryan’s COVID-19 diagnosis. These TikTok videos prompted a response from Bryan’s wife, Caroline, who has been taking care of their kids solo while he’s in quarantine.
“I kinda wish there was a fight. I’m sick of taking care of kids alone and sanitizing. I’m peeing Lysol!!!” she wrote in the comments section.
The person responsible for starting the rumor also insisted that it was all just a joke taken out of context.
“I had stated that there had been a fight between Wyatt Pike and Luke Bryan which was why they were absent from the show last week,” they wrote. “This is simply untrue. I made it up. Apparently, I’m better at making a joke sound believable than I thought.”
Bryan returned to American Idol this week for the live shows, and Pike is back to posting musical content on Instagram. He just dropped a song called “Friday Nights.”
So it looks like the two are off the hook, well…kind of. Bryan just released a new game called “Floatin’ This Creek With Luke Bryan.” It’s as simple as it sounds and pays tribute to his love for fishing.
You can play as a little animated version of Bryan standing in a boat. Simply cast your line down to see how many fish you can catch. It sounds like a perfect way to relax after spiraling down the Idol conspiracy theory hole.
According to the website, the game is best played listening to the deluxe version of Bryan’s album Born Here Live Here Die Here.
