In a clip from a Lifetime documentary about Wendy Williams, the talk show host discusses her ex-husband’s alleged affair, and why she didn’t leave him after she found out.
The documentary Wendy Williams: What a Mess! aired on Lifetime earlier this year. The former Masked Singer contestant describes how she learned her ex Kevin Hunter was reportedly cheating on her.
Wendy Williams On Husband’s Affair
Wendy calls Kevin a “stupid gorilla” before talking about his alleged affair with Sharina Hudson. She said she hired a private investigator to follow Kevin.
The PI told Wendy that Kevin and his mistress were on the beach in Miami. The documentary even shows a photo of them sitting side by side. The pair was also photographed out and about together.

In 2017, the Daily Mail reported that Kevin had been having an affair with Sharina for over ten years, and even bought a house for her nine miles away from his home with Wendy.
Wendy calls Sharina a “backwoods Barbie,” saying she learned of the house Kevin allegedly bought for his mistress by reading the tabloids. The situation was complicated further by the fact that Kevin was Wendy’s manager at the time.
Why Didn’t Wendy Williams Leave Her Husband Right Away?
“What do you do when you find out your marriage is about to be all the way over?” she says in the clip, adding that she had to put on a happy face for her son and talk show viewers.
She explains that she couldn’t call her family about it, because they would have told her to “just leave” Kevin. “And I’m like, but I’m still in love,” she says through tears.” I don’t know what to do. Like, are you serious with this? This is really going down.”

Wendy and Kevin have since gotten divorced. “You will not get away with trying to pull off having two families, you dirty, low-down dog,” Wendy says in the documentary.
Since the divorce, Wendy says she feels “surrounded by success,” adding, “I got me. And who’s better than you? No one.” She’s since gone out with a man named Mike Esterman as part of a dating game on her show. She posted a photo with him on Instagram, calling him a “gentleman.”
