PREDICTION: Who Will Go Through To The Finals On ‘America’s Got Talent’?
Reading Time: 4 minutes
Week one of the America’s Got Talent semifinals was full of incredible acts, some mishaps and standout moments. It’s a really hard choice but America voted for their favorite contestants to have a shot at the $1 million prize. Which five acts should go through to the finals after this week’s performances?
Which Acts Should Make It Through To The Finals On ‘America’s Got Talent’?
While there were so many incredible singers featured in week one of the semifinals, the obvious shoo-in to make it to the finals is Roberta Battaglia. Sofia Vergara’s Golden Buzzer put on an epic vocal performance of “What About Us.” She looked great and sounded “spectacular” as Sofia would say and it was clear that she shined last night as the budding music star she is. Someone else who very clearly deserves to be in the finals is poet Brandon Leake. Last week Brandon delivered a powerful letter to his mother about being black in America in support of the Black Lives Matter movement. This week, he did a stunning performance depicting his rocky relationship with his father. You could literally hear a pin drop as he commanded the room and had Howie Mandel’s jaw on the floor.

There Could Be A Battle Between Singers
Here’s where the rest of the votes get a bit tricky, with dark horse act Broken Roots. They definitely have a fanbase that came through in the quarterfinals that love their country-rock flair and voted them to this point. They were brought back after being eliminated during Judge Cuts because singer Thomas Day was unable to perform. However, last night we saw the return of Thomas Day. And although some parts of his performance were a little rocky, the teen has amassed a huge following of the young teen demographic that could send votes his way. So who will earn the top spot, Thomas or Broken Roots? Our guess is Broken Roots only because we know how much America loves country music and Blake Shelton’s song “God’s Country.” They could totally surprise us and end up in the Dunkin’ Save.
Who Will Earn The Dunkin’ Save?
Each week the acts that finished in the voting in fourth, fifth and sixth place are eligible for the Dunkin’ Save. America will have to choose which act they want to save, leaving the other two acts fighting for the judge’s votes to stay in the competition. If there hadn’t been so many mishaps in the Spyros Bros performance last night, they would no doubt be one of the acts in the Dunkin’ Save. But, we definitely think singer Archie Williams if not voted in the top three by America will definitely be in the Dunkin’ Save. His vocal performance was very rocky last night, but his story about being wrongly incarcerated and the glimpse at his relationship with his daughter could carry him to the finals.
Another act that should be in the Dunkin’ Save is Malik DOPE. Every week he steps up his performance and shows that he is more than just a drummer. His talent has range and the man played the drums while riding a hoverboard. The last spot in the Dunkin’ Save could very well be a tossup between aerialist Alan Silva and Thomas Day is he isn’t voted through by America. Alan pushed boundaries last night using chains instead of his normal silks. And like we said before, Thomas has a huge fanbase of teen girls. Howie had criticism for both acts so it really could be a battle for votes.
Thomas having a story about surviving COVID along with his mom triggered some people on Twitter to say he will be getting a sympathy vote. But we know on America’s Got Talent, there are tons of times where an emotional backstory helps an act advance on in the competition.
