‘The Masked Singer’ Isn’t Premiering a New Season This Fall — What’s Taking Its Place?

Fans of The Masked Singer will have to wait a little longer to see Season 14 on their screens. The show will not be airing a fall season this year, which means we won’t get any new episodes until January 2026. What show will be taking its place on the schedule?

The Masked Singer Is Not Airing This Fall

Since it premiered in 2019, The Masked Singer has aired two seasons per year — once in the spring, and once in the fall. Season 13 wrapped up in May, with Pearl (aka Gretchen Wilson) being named the winner. However, the show is breaking with tradition by skipping a fall season this year.

After Season 13 ended, the show confirmed that Season 14 would not air until January. In July, Deadline reported that FOX would be airing Season 4 of the game show The Floor in The Masked Singer‘s usual Wednesday night timeslot this fall. It will premiere September 24.

“It just felt like the right time to give the show and the very, very hardworking people involved in it a little bit of breathing space just to regroup creatively, get their breath back and do a season this year in January, which is traditionally our strongest time of year,” FOX Entertainment CEO Rob Wade explained of the schedule change earlier this year.

An exact premiere date for Season 14 has yet to be announced, but fans should be on the lookout for more information about the new contestants as January gets closer. According to Wade, the one-season-per-year format is not set in stone and could change in the future.

Will the Judges Be Back Next Season?

As of this writing, the judges for Season 14 of The Masked Singer have not been officially confirmed. Robin Thicke, Jenny McCarthy, and Ken Jeong have sat on the panel since the show’s very first season, so it would be surprising if they didn’t return for another round of the competition.

As for the fourth seat on the panel, Rita Ora replaced longtime judge Nicole Scherzinger beginning in Season 11. Scherzinger has been busy performing on the West End and Broadway, even winning a Tony for her role in Sunset Boulevard earlier this year.

The show has since closed on Broadway, leaving fans to wonder if Scherzinger might return to The Masked Singer. The former Pussycat Dolls singer is scheduled to perform a few shows in London, New York, and Los Angeles in October.

It’s not clear if those shows will interfere with The Masked Singer‘s filming schedule, or if Scherzinger is even interested in returning to the panel for another season. We’ll have to wait and see.
