Viewers Choose Last Two ‘Canada’s Got Talent’ Finalists — Who Made It Through?

Canada’s Got Talent will return next Tuesday night for the season finale, as eight contestants take the stage for their chance to win the $1 million prize from Rogers. Two of those finalists were determined by votes from viewers at home.
Who Did Canada’s Got Talent Viewers Vote into the Finale?
Earlier this week, the CGT Semifinals aired, as 14 contestants took the stage for their chance to make it into next week’s finale. Two of those acts (singer Jacob Lewis and dance group Funkyverse) earned a Golden Buzzer, with four others being chosen by the judges to go to the Finals.
Four more acts were eliminated during Tuesday’s show. It was up to CGT viewers to vote for which of the remaining four contestants should go to the finale, with two spots up for grabs. The acts in the running included singers Nicolina and Carsim Birmingham, as well as acrobatic group Jambo Brothers and strongman Tulga.
Voting was open overnight, and the chosen finalists have now been revealed. Nicolina and Carsim Birmingham are going to the finale. Both singers earned a Golden Buzzer for their auditions, from host Lindsay Ell and judge Kardinal Offishall, respectively.
American Idol fans might recognize Nicolina from her time on Season 20 of the show, where she made it into the Top 5. Could she win the million-dollar prize on CGT? We’ll have to wait and see.

When Does the Finale Air?
The Canada’s Got Talent season finale is set to air live on Citytv on Tuesday, May 13, starting at 8 p.m. ET. Voting will open at the start of the two-hour episode, as viewers will determine which of the eight finalists will be crowned the winner at the end of the night.
In addition to Nicolina and Carsim Birmingham, the other finalists include Golden Buzzer recipients Jacob Lewis and Funkyverse, as well as singing duo The Martin Boys, comedians Darren Leo and Sai Kit Lo, and drone group Illumin.
