Reading Time: 3 minutes
Rapper Tyga turned himself in to the Hollywood Police station after abuse allegations were made by his ex-girlfriend. The 31-year-old, whose real name is Micheal Ray Nguyen-Stevenson, was booked for felony domestic violence on Tuesday morning. He was released just hours later after posting a $50,000 bail.
Tyga Turns Himself in to Police After Alleged Physical Altercation with Ex
TMZ first reported that an argument broke out between Tyga and his ex-girlfriend Camaryn Swanson. She had allegedly come to his home at 3 a.m on Monday despite him telling her not to. There were reportedly other people present at his home at the time when Camaryn began yelling at Tyga’s front door.
A source close to Tyga said that Camaryn might have been under the influence and was acting “belligerent.” She continued to yell as she was invited inside of his house. After the incident, Camaryn took to social media to post photos of the abuse she allegedly faced by Tyga.
“I’ve been emotionally, mentally and physically abused and I’m not hiding it anymore,” she wrote on her Instagram Story.
The influencer posted a video with a black eye. She held her sleeve up to the camera to show what looked to be a bloodstain. Camaryn claims Tyga got physical with her during the altercation. TMZ’s law enforcement sources say that Camaryn called her mother to come pick her up before filing a police report. Officers that took the report saw “visible marks” on her.
The Masked Singer contestant was not arrested during the police visit. Instead, he planned to talk to the LAPD the following morning. He showed up to the precinct the next day to turn himself in. TMZ reported that he was arrested and immediately chose to pay his bail.
Camaryn Posts Alleged Text Conversation Between the Pair
Camaryn also posted a screenshot of a conversation that she allegedly had with Tyga before and after the incident. She asked Tyga to send her a car close to 3 a.m to pick her up. About five hours later, Tyga sent Camaryn crying emojis with a text that said, “hurts so much.” Her side of the story was different than what was initially reported.
“I didn’t show up ‘screaming’ or uninvited,” she captioned the screenshot. “When I tried to leave he physically assaulted and refused to let me leave for hours.”
The pair began dating earlier this year. They made their relationship Instagram official in February after a trip to Disney World. Tyga’s 8-year-old son, King Cairo with ex Blac Chyna, also joined them. In June, the couple sparked engagement rumors after Camaryn showed off a huge diamond ring leaving a nightclub with the rapper. It is unclear when the couple broke up.
“I can’t believe this is how it has to end,” Camaryn wrote in a text message to Tyga. “Honestly I’m so heart broken and didn’t think you were capable to ever do this to me.”
A court date is set for February 2022. On his way into the police station, Tyga did not stop to give a statement. He also remained silent on his way out of the police station.
