Tom Bergeron Tugs At Heartstrings Sharing Photo With Former ‘DWTS’ Host Erin Andrews

In 2020, Tyra Banks became host of the well known ABC show, Dancing With The Stars. She came into the show replacing long time host Tom Bergeron and his co-host Erin Andrews. If I’m being honest, the DWTS fandom hasn’t been the same since Tom Bergeron left.
On August 19, Tom Bergeron shared a photo of him and his old co-host on Instagram. This throwback Thursday post quite literally broke the hearts of many DWTS fans. They definitely weren’t afraid to share how upset they still are about hosting replacement on the show.
It’s been a year since Banks replaced Bergeron and Andrews, and fans are still upset. Actually, maybe I shouldn’t call them fans anymore. A lot of people commented on Bergeron’s post to share that they haven’t watched the show since Banks became host.
“And this is why we miss y’all!! u made the show entertaining. fun. real. none of this over the top model drama BS w tyra! the show is ruined now. she has completely ruined it,” one fan commented.
Don’t get me wrong, there were a few people who wished Bergeron well and didn’t have a grudge against ABC. But many people definitely are still holding that grudge.
Why Tom Bergeron, Erin Andrews Left DWTS
Dancing With The Stars and their affiliates claim that Bergeron and Andrews were let go to continue the evolution of the show. But, it could be more than that since Bergeron was a part of the biggest controversy DWTS has seen.
In season 28 Sean Spicer, Former White House Press Secretary was a celebrity on the show. Bergeron was not quiet about how he had suggested other celebrity options for that season.
“Chief among them was my hope that DWTS, in its return following an unprecedented year-long hiatus, would be a joyful respite from our exhausting political climate and free of inevitably divisive bookings from ANY party affiliations. I left that lunch convinced we were in agreement. Subsequently (and rather obviously), a decision was made to, as we often say in Hollywood, ‘go in a different direction,” he said in a lengthy Tweet.
We’re not sure if this was necessarily the reason Bergeron and Andrews got let go from ABC. But, it very well might have taken a toll on their relationship with corporate. Following this controversy, Bergeron and Andrews did not return to Dancing With The Stars.
Although this blast to the past was a lot of fun, it seems like Banks is here to stay, whether fans like it or not. She will be returning as the host of Dancing With The Stars. The upcoming season premieres on September 20 at 8pm on ABC.
