The Voice is returning to NBC for season 22 this fall with the newest coach, Camila Cabello. With the next season on the rise, we can’t wait to reunite with our favorite stars and meet this year’s new contestants.
In addition to Cabello, past coaches Blake Shelton, John Legend, and reoccuring coach Gwen Stefani are returning places on the celebrity panel. Fans of the long running series are sad to see Kelly Clarkson and Ariana Grande depart from the series, but they’re happy to have Stefani back.
When Does ‘The Voice’ Premiere?
On June 29, NBC announced that season 22 of The Voice will premiere on September 19. This show’s two day a week format has yet to be confirmed, but fans expect the Monday and Tuesday format to return as well.
Fans missed watching The Voice since its recent format change. Typically, fans of the series are able to see two new seasons of the singing show every year. But, such was not the case this year, with the launch the shows “one cycle per year” format.
Blind auditions began earlier this month with a live audience at Universal Studios Hollywood. According to the ticketing website, the Battle Rounds are set to film on July 27 and 28, while the Knockout Rounds are set to film on August 9. Tickets are currently available for any fan that wants to attend.
Audience members must be at least 18 years old and be fully vaccinated, with a negative COVID-19 test (no more than two days before taping). Attendees must wear face masks at all times unless told otherwise.
Camila Cabello Joins the Coaching Panel for Season 22
Cabello is replacing Ariana Grande on the panel for season 22. Last season, Cabello joined the cast as a Battle Advisor for Team Legend. Now, she’ll be picking and mentoring a team of her own.
Previous coach, Stefani is also rejoining the cast of The Voice this season. This star last appeared as a coach in season 19, when her artist Carter Rubin won the show. Season 22 marks Stefani’s sixth on the celebrity panel.
Beloved coaches, Blake Shelton and John Legend are returning to the panel alongside Cabello and Stefani. This season marks Shelton’s 22nd season of coaching and Legend’s seventh. This is also Carson Daly’s 22nd season of hosting the series. Even though fans are sad to say goodbye to Kelly Clarkson, they’re excited to see what Cabello brings to the table.
I want Kelly Back. Won’t be the same without her. Glad to see Gwen though..
I look forward to season 22. Once a year is not enough for the much loved “The Voice”. I’m sure Kelly is sad to leave the show but continuing to give 150% to everything she does and is involved in.
