Sofia Vergara is currently doing press for her new Netflix show Griselda, in which she plays notorious Colombian drug lord Griselda Blanco. Meanwhile, Blanco’s children are reportedly suing Vergara and Netflix over the project.

Sofia Vergara Is Being Sued Over Netflix Show Griselda

According to TMZ, Blanco’s family wants to stop the release of Griselda, which is set to premiere on January 25. Vergara is reportedly named as a defendant in a lawsuit filed by the late Blanco’s adult children, who are representing her estate.

Blanco’s children claim the Netflix show (which is produced by Vergara) features unauthorized use of their family’s image and likeness. Blanco’s son Michael claims he participated in interviews between 2009 and 2022 with people who wanted to produce his family’s story.

He claims that the people with whom he was consulting said they started shopping the story around Hollywood in 2016. He was apparently told that Netflix was interested in producing the story, but didn’t want to use anything from his interviews.

However, he claims that the series Griselda does use a lot of information he provided, without paying him for it. The family wants a judge to stop the scheduled release of the limited series.

Vergara Recently Faced Another Lawsuit

This isn’t the only lawsuit Vergara has faced in recent months. Toward the end of last year, it was reported that the actress was being sued by contractors who renovated her home in Los Angeles. They claimed Vergara didn’t pay them over $1.7 million.

The lawsuit alleges that Vergara failed to pay two invoices from March and July of last year for renovations on her home. The actress reportedly filed a complained against the company for “significant overcharging,” as well as “substandard and negligent work, and long delays.”

Vergara’s lawyer, Martin Singer, said she was “seeking damages in excess of $5 million.” Meanwhile, the company, Reside Custom Homes (RCH), claims the actress “would routinely engage in aggressive outbursts” against their employees.

I’m grateful. I have spent a long time looking for information on this subject, and yours is the greatest I have come across so far. However, what about the revenue? Are you positive about the source?
