Shangela Laquifa Wadley, popularly known as Shangela, is no doubt one of the iconic divas that RuPaul’s Drag Race has ever produced. Now that he joined Dancing With The Stars Season 31 as the first drag queen in the show, it pays to recall how he rocked RuPaul’s Drag Race multiple times.

As many know, Shangela was the first queen that got eliminated from RuPaul’s Drag Race season 2. Just when viewers thought the drag queen’s run was over, they were proven wrong. Shangela came back stronger, surprising everyone out of a pink box.
2. The Outer Space Fight
Every Drag Race fan has probably heard of the outer space fight. This feud between Shangela and Mimi Imfurst took place during RuPaul’s Drag Race spin off, Untucked in season 3. This roast was far above any other, this episode got especially heated when the queens ganged up against Mimi’s runway outfit. You won’t believe what Shangela said when Mimi accused the drag queen of having a sugar daddy.
3. The Remarkable Snow Globe Moment
Remember when drag queens were asked to redeem their ultimate fashion fail on their original season? Shangela chose to reclaim his Christmas Queen costume through becoming a giant snow globe. Others argue that his costume was not anything related to Christmas. Nonetheless, he still nailed this moment.
4. His Comic Portrayal of Mariah Carey
Shangela humorously played Mariah Carey, performing a tribute live medley of RuPaul music. This challenge was particularly difficult, since she had to portray Carey. Shangela had no issue staying in character from rehearsals to the onstage performance.

Any person who’s watched RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars 3 knows that Shangela deserved to win the season. His comeback tactic involved everything he learned from his first season. Even though he failed to “snatch the crown,” many fans have declared him their winner.

In light of RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars 3, a recently released deleted scene showed off an epic reading challenge. Shangela did not waste the challenge, he showed off his wit by throwing shade to co-drag entertainers and even himself.
Dancing With The Stars Season 31 premieres on September 19, 2022 with Shangela as part of the celebrity cast. The talent show will stream live on Disney+.
