Reba McEntire Jokes That The Other Coaches Are “Real Mean” During Blind Auditions
In a preview of the season, we catch a glimpse of the blind auditions, where McEntire goes head-to-head with her fellow coaches: Niall Horan, Gwen Stefani, and John Legend. Before the blind auditions get underway, McEntire humorously questions the other coaches.

McEntire later confesses that the blind auditions proved to be more challenging than she expected, with the coaches employing blocking strategies that she found “devious” and their on-camera personas appearing a bit “mean,” especially in Stefani’s case.
This marks McEntire’s first time as a coach on The Voice, having previously appeared as a battle advisor and mentor on the show. She takes the coveted seat formerly occupied by country legend Blake Shelton, who was known for his competitive antics and playful rivalry with other coaches.
Despite the competitive spirit on the show, McEntire shares that offstage, her fellow coaches are “just as sweet and kind as they can be.” It’s clear that the friendly competition is all in good fun, as the coaches bring their unique personalities to the stage to discover and nurture talented artists.
Fans Are Already Missing Blake Shelton on The Show
As the highly-anticipated premiere of The Voice Season 24 gets closer, fans are already feeling the absence of a familiar face. As the four coaches prepare to lead the new season, it became evident that this season will be different without the veteran mentor, Shelton.
While the majority of viewers were excited to see this star-studded quartet come together, a sentiment of longing for Shelton’s return to the show permeated the comments section.
“It ain’t the same without Team Blake,” one fan commented on Instagram.
“Can’t wait for the season to begin!! Will miss Blake but you guys rock,” A different viewer commented.
Longtime fans of the show may recall that Shelton was one of the original four coaches when The Voice premiered in 2011. For more than a decade, he not only appeared on the series but also clinched multiple victories as a coach. However, in October 2022, Shelton announced his departure from the show after Season 23.
