Olly Murs Walks Back Stuff He Said About Simon Cowell

When Olly Murs stopped his association with The X Factor UK to work on The Voice UK, it seems that Simon Cowell, X Factor‘s producer and star, did not take it well. He saw it as a betrayal…or at least that is what Olly had said in the past. Now Olly is walking that back a bit and saying that the news made bigger deal of it than it is.
Sure, Simon still isn’t speaking to him but Olly figures that doesn’t matter. Simon is a busy guy, right? Right? Olly said on Good Morning Britain,
“That’s all paper talk. I mean, I haven’t heard from Simon, I haven’t spoken to him but I’m sure we’re great. What people misinterpret – when I came off X Factor I wasn’t still part of X Factor, I’ve gone on and had my music career and Simon wasn’t involved in that, really. He was in it at the start of it, but listen, X Factor has been a massive part of my life, I love it. I won’t stop watching it. But The Voice pays my wages now.”
It’s true that he hadn’t been a regular on The X Factor in a couple of years. But that doesn’t mean that Simon didn’t want him waiting by the phone in case he wanted Olly back. I obviously don’t know Simon Cowell, but he strikes me as the type of person who is great when he’s on your side but if you cross him…good luck.
