Mira Sorvino Wins on Celebrity Jeopardy!
During Wednesday’s Celebrity Jeopardy!, Sorvino was up against actor Adam Rodriguez and sportscaster Peter Schrager. Host Ken Jennings pointed out that she’s the second Oscar winner to appear on the celebrity version of the game show, after Jodie Foster.
According to Yahoo, Sorvino told Jennings that she had been practicing for her appearance by playing the Jeopardy! app. It paid off, as she headed into Final Jeopardy with $12,200, a $400 lead over Schrager. All three contestants correctly answered the final clue.
Schrager ended up with $19,000 thanks to his wager, while Sorvino bet $12,000 to bring her total to $24,200. Jennings shared that both Sorvino and Foster now have both an Academy Award and a Celebrity Jeopardy! win.
Contestants on the celebrity version of the show play for charity. Sorvino was playing for the UN Voluntary Trust Fund for Victims of Trafficking in Persons, which helps survivors of human trafficking. The actress will now move on to the semifinals. The grand prize is $1 million.

Sorvino Was Eliminated from Dancing with the Stars
Sorvino’s Jeopardy! win aired one day after she was unfortunately eliminated from this season of Dancing with the Stars. The actress had been competing on the show with her professional partner Gleb Savchenko.
For the night’s theme, “Most Memorable Year,” Sorvino danced a Contemporary routine inspired by her movie Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion. Her daughter Mattea was included in the performance.
Sorvino earned a score of 22 for the routine, but she didn’t earn enough votes to keep her in the competition. The actress said of her time on the show, “It’s been incredible. It’s been lots of dreams come true, and I’m very grateful.”
