Reading Time: 2 minutes
If you loved Harper’s America’s Got Talent audition, you will love The Dremeka Choir. This metal choir is sure to shock the judges on Tuesday night’s AGT audition episode.
Meet Canadian Metal Choir, The Dremeka Choir
The Dremeka Choir is a choir that features metal vocalists. This choir is so outstanding because it blends metal and experimental music together to create a unique experience. This group was founded in 2018 by composer Pierre-Luc Senéca. The members of the group, 13 metal vocalists are from Montreal, Canada. The Dremeka Choir performed in front of an audience for the first time in May 2019.
Their first piece, “The Dayking” has earned positive reviews for its vocal arrangement. Its success is mostly attributed to the group’s lead speaker, Fortner Anderson. Anderson is a spoken word artist, known in the Montreal spoken word scene. According to their website, Anderson’s portion of “The Dayking” is “dramatically poignant, visceral and riveting.”
The Dremeka Choir dedicates themself to producing exciting concerts, with music that explores a variety of singing techniques. Ahead of AGT, this group headlined the festival international de musique actuelle de Victoriaville and collaborated with classical choir Temps Fort for the concert “Extreme Vocals.” That concert lasted 60 minutes and featured 14 growlers and 24 singers. Even though this group has auditioned for AGT, they have a show coming up on July 9.
Who Was The Dremeka Choir Before AGT?
In present day they have one song available for streaming called “Hate.Machine.” The single is a nine minute track that features electric guitars, singer’s voices, and even more. Right now, the choir has 425 followers on Instagram and 20 monthly listeners on Spotify. Since creating their Instagram in February, the group has introduced each individual member in their own post.
It’s clear that The Dremeka Choir has raw talent that is relatively unknown ahead of America’s Got Talent. Their choir is truly unlike anything we’ve ever seen before. Be sure to tune into America’s Got Talent to see what the audience and judges think of this unique choir.
