We have come so far on The Masked Singer season 4 already. It’s time for the Group A Finals! Over the next three weeks, six singers will emerge to move on to the Super Six Semifinals.

But who will make it from Group A? And who will be unmasked? Here’s our recap of tonight’s episode of The Masked Singer Group A Finals.

To kick off the night, Group A put on a performance of “Raise Your Glass” by P!nk. What a fun way to start the show! But now it’s time to get into what we’re all waiting for: the clues and performances.

Who is The Sun?

The Sun performs “Piece of My Heart” by Janis Joplin on The Masked Singer Group A Finals

Clues: All the clues tonight are being told by people close to the singers. The Sun’s “sol male” is giving her clues! She introduces him saying, “Honey, take the wheel.” When he comes onto the screen, we see four cow figurines, a framed picture of the Northern Lights, a string of blue angels wind chimes, a patterned blanket, and what looks like a rolled up sleeping bag. He talks about how they took their RV on road trips during the past few months and we see “Welcome to BALTIMORE”, “ALASKA” and “Greetings from MEXICO.” Sun’s “game changing clue” from her sol mate was that she’s “actually golden. She’s got at least one single that went certified gold!”

Performance: Sun’s performance starts with some centaurs on stage? But once she starts singing, her voice is as strong as ever. She has incredible tone and range! The Sun is definitely a trained singer and isn’t afraid to show off her vocals.

Judges’ Guesses: Ken guessed the Sun is Katherine McPhee, but guest panelist Niecy Nash disagreed. She said her “sol mate” had to be a boyfriend, instead pitching JoJo or Jewel (who is from Alaska). Jenny thought the Sun was Demi Lovato.

Who Are The Snow Owls?

Clues: The Snow Owls’ clues were told by a “famous close personal friend.” We see a rocking horse, a model rocket, a Parthenon, and a red drink. Their “branchy buddy” says the two are total opposites. He’s glad this opportunity has allowed “Lady Owl” to come out from “Sir Owl’s shadow.” Their game changing clue was “two Snow Owls sittin’ in a tree K-I-S-S-I-N-G” and then they kissed!

Performance: When the music for “The Prayer” by Andrea Bocelli and Celine Dion started playing, I had to roll my eyes. The cheesiest song ever! But I might be in the minority thinking that. This wasn’t the Snow Owls’ best performance, but their harmonies were still on point. And their notes at the end were particularly “breath-taking,” as Nick said.

Judges’ Guesses: Guest panelist Niecy Nash thought it could be Brad Paisley and his wife, Kimberly. Robin stuck with his guess of Amy Grant and Vince Gill. Ken predicted Danny DeVito and Rhea Perlman, going through a wild line of clues that point to them.

Who is The Popcorn?

The Popcorn performs “Domino” by Jessie J on The Masked Singer Group A Finals

Clues: Popcorn’s clues were told by her “queen BFF.” She is a Russian doll and explains that she knows Popcorn through a mutual friend. We see a deer stuffed animal and a basket with bunny ears. Her BFF complains about Popcorn not singing at her “famous karaoke parties!” Then, a sewing box is shown with a set of scissors in it. The Russian doll says she’s been on The Masked Singer stage before! Plot twist! Her famous friend gives the game changing clue that “not only [has she] been here before, but in the show’s history, one of you has guessed Popcorn.”

Performance: Singing “Domino” by Jessie J, I think this is Popcorn’s best performance so far! She’s having fun and showing off her voice. Plus, you have to love the energy!

Judges’ Guesses: Jenny has an “a-ha” moment where she thinks she knows! She predicts that Popcorn is Taylor Dayne, mentioning that Leah Remini could be her friend who was on The Masked Singer stage before. Niecy thought it could be Cyndi Lauper or Anika Noni Rose. Ken said he knows “exactly who this is,” guessing Anita Baker.

SMACKDOWN: Snow Owls vs. Popcorn

After their first performances, the votes were in and the Sun would be advancing straight to the Super Six. That left the Snow Owls and Popcorn to fight for their spot in the Semifinals. Snow Owls were up first, singing “Because You Loved Me” by Celine Dion. There’s a theme for them tonight! And they sounded much better than their first song. But will it be enough? The Popcorn took the stage next with “(Everything I Do) I Do It For You” by Bryan Adams. While I would normally give this match-up straight to the Snow Owls, I think Popcorn is proving she deserves a spot! This was a close one.

First Ever Duo Revealed on The Masked Singer Season 4!

In the end, it was the Snow Owls who were eliminated and had to take off their masks. That just goes to show you that every performance counts, especially with how competitive season 4 has been!

Clint Black and Lisa Hartmann Black!

These country singers fooled a lot of people, thinking they were siblings because of misleading clues! But we did predict them earlier this season. Next week, it’s Group B’s turn to earn their spots in the Super Six. But that means TWO eliminations! Don’t miss The Masked Singer next week. And check out our recaps on YouTube for more reveals and clue explanations.
