With the next season of Dancing With the Stars around the corner, professional dancers are beginning to hint to their return to the ballroom. In a recent interview, longtime pro Cheryl Burke hinted that she may not return to the ballroom this season.
Cheryl Burke Talks About Possible Dancing With the Stars Departure
Though official cast announcements have yet to be revealed for Dancing With the Stars, Cheryl Burke thinks this might be her last season. While talking to Allison Kugel, Burke revealed that she doesn’t know how much longer she’ll have a celebrity partner.
“Where I’m at right now is I’m not overthinking it right this second. Because, if I do another season of Dancing With the Stars, I just need to do it, when the time comes,” Burke said. “Whether this will be my last season or not, I don’t know.”
Even though the dancer seems to have an open mind about her fate, she admits that she cannot dwell on the fact that her time on the series may be over. Fans hope to see this dancer return to the ballroom, since she has been on the show since she was 22 years old.
When it comes to the departure of dancers from the show, it’s important to remember that Burke is only 38 years old in present day. There is no cut off from the sport, but the show may want to have a different face for their migration to the streaming service.
Could Motherhood be on The Horizon?
It seems like Burke’s hint toward her departure from the show comes with a variety of decisions behind it. As part of the interview, the professional dancer opened up about her struggle with body dysmorphia and body image, related to dance and future endeavors. She admits that having a child or adopting has been on her mind for quite some time, but Dancing With the Stars put a pause on that plan.
“I would prefer not to have to put myself in a dance costume and just let myself gain weight,” Burke said. “I do believe I will start to love my body more when I don’t have to shove my a** into a dance costume.”
It seems like Burke would prefer to experience motherhood without having to force herself into a dance costume weekly. We’re not sure if this dancer would rather take a maternity leave or leave the show entirely to become a mother.
Good for you Cheryl. You are beautiful and so very talented. Loving yourself and your body should be primary for you. Eat, stay healthy, have babies, or adopt. Live life on your terms, not theirs. ❤️
Cheryl I wouldn’t blame you for not joining this year! I love seeing you dance but them moving to Disney and bringing back that Tyra the clown made my decision easy I won’t watch or pay to see the show! Even with Alfonso coming into host it won’t make a difference! She is a horrible host and she can’t get over herself! But please keep dancing
