The clip in question is from 2013, when McPhee and Brand were guests on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. Instead of moving out of his chair when McPhee stepped out, Brand stayed seated. McPhee then jokingly sat on Brand’s lap.
The comedian wrapped his arms around her. As McPhee started to stand up, Brand put his hands on her hips and shouted, “For the Queen!”
Brand then told her, “You’re beautiful.” As the American Idol star talked to Fallon, Brand continued to talk about his attraction to her. At one point, he said, “When she said ‘exchange numbers,’ I thought of things that I’d like to exchange with her.”
The clip resurfaced this week after Brand was accused of sexual assault by multiple women. The comedian denied the allegations in a video posted last week, pointing to a “time of promiscuity” in his past but insisting that these encounters were “always consensual.”

McPhee Called the Incident ‘Harmless’
On Monday, The Daily Mail posted a screencap from the Jimmy Fallon interview on Instagram, with the caption reading, “She looks so uncomfortable.” McPhee herself commented on the post to refute the claim that she was uncomfortable.
McPhee wrote that “this specific incident was over 10 years ago and it was harmless.” The singer added, “Please don’t try and use me for whatever purpose you are trying to serve.”
The Daily Mail published part of McPhee’s response in a follow-up article. At the time of the Fallon interview, McPhee was married to Nick Cokas. When Brand learned she was married, he joked that she “could drop that guy any day” before walking off the set.
