American Idol winner Jordin Sparks was recently a guest on Cut’s video series “Truth or Drink,” where she opened up about topics both silly and serious. That includes admitting that she’s “done the nasty” to her own music, and reflecting on the controversial 2009 Grammys.
Jordin Sparks’ Husband Makes Funny Confession for Her
“Have you ever done the nasty while listening to your own music?” host Omar asked Sparks during the video. Before she could answer, her husband Dana Isaiah answered off camera, “Yes.” Sparks laughed at his confession, joking, “I don’t even get to take a shot, damn it!”
She then admitted, “Yes, okay, he gave it away.” When asked what song it was, Isaiah revealed that it was “Silhouette,” off Sparks’ third album Right Here Right Now.
Omar asked Sparks if she listened to the song in that situation and thought she could have “hit that note better.” She laughed, responding, “I shouldn’t be thinking about those things, Omar, while we’re doing it.”

Sparks Talks About the 2009 Grammys
Sparks also opened up about her experience at the Grammys in 2009, before which Chris Brown was arrested following his assault on then-girlfriend Rihanna. Sparks said she “found out like everybody else found out.”
She and Brown were nominated at the Grammys that year for Best Pop Collaboration with Vocals, for their song “No Air.” Sparks said that label publicists came up to her on the red carpet and told her, “You know nothing.” At that point, she really didn’t know what happened.
The singer later learned what happened during the ceremony. She said she thought they had a “really good chance of winning” the category. However, the award went to Robert Plant and Alison Krauss for “Gone Gone Gone (Done Moved On).” Sparks said she “couldn’t believe it.”
“I think a lot of stuff that happened after that was not me, but I think a lot of the powers that be had a hand in, like…” She then made the motion of pushing something to the side. Sparks said she “didn’t know the ins and outs of the industry” back then.
