John Legend, Chrissy Teigen Give Fans a Tour of Their Family Home
Legend and Teigen collaborated with AD100 designer Jake Arnold to make their artistic vision a reality. Upon opening their doors to the spectacular property, the two explained why they went head over heels the architectural home.
“Our last house was darker and more cloistered, like a sanctuary,” Legend said. “We were attracted to this place because of its lightness and airiness. [We] love how open it feels, and how it’s so connected to the outdoors. We wanted to create something magical, especially for the kids.”
Apparently, Legend and Teigen liked to add “a little funk” to the house.
Hence, they asked Arnold to broaden his horizons and go for a more natural and earthy color palette.
As they head on to the living room, the cookbook author jokingly referred to it as the “Instagram Story room.” The space primarily features a modern crescent-shaped Pierre Yovanovitch oak sofa. According to Teigen, their family lounges in the living room — watching reality tv.
The couple also flaunted their kitchen and the glam music room. In the piano area, the “All of Me” hitmaker showed a custom Alison Berger chandelier. Such was designed with hanging wine glasses etched with lyrics from some of his first albums.
They Also Gave a Peek Into Their Kids’ Bedroom
In the middle of the video, the couple tagged their viewers along Luna’s bedroom. The pale pink and purple space is filled with a swinging couch and a large slide that ends in a ball pit.
“We just kind of gave Jake some vague notes about how we wanted the kids’ rooms to look, and when he came back with drawings of what they were actually going to look like, I was like, this is beyond anyone’s wildest dreams of what their bedroom should look like,†Legend said.
Subsequently, they proceeded to Miles’ bedroom. The room contained a Jeep-shaped bunk bed, with working headlights. The same space is styled as a cave where Miles usually reads his books and plays.
During the video, Miles cutely said that “Jake did a good job.”
Later on, they toured viewers to their stunning backyard space. There’s a wooden play structure for the kids, an outdoor kitchen, and an infinity pool. In the same space, plenty of patio space for entertaining the constant flow of family and friends who visit. In their primary suite, Legend revealed that they opted to redo the floor plan and just share their amenities.
“We’re not an old-school Victorian couple that needs to dress separately and then present ourselves all done up,” Teigen said. Â
