Jodie Sweetin Shares How Bob Saget Was at Her Wedding in Spirit

Full House actress Jodie Sweetin recently got married to Mescal Wasilewski after announcing her engagement in January. In a new interview, Sweetin shared how her late co-star Bob Saget was at her wedding in spirit thanks to a last-minute wardrobe change by John Stamos.
Jodie Sweetin Shares Bob Saget’s Presence at Wedding
In an interview with E!’s Daily Pop, Sweetin called her recent wedding the “perfect day,” adding that her “Full House family was there” to celebrate with her. Even Bob Saget, who passed away in January, had a presence at the event, as Sweetin explained.
Before John Stamos left the house for the wedding, his wife Caitlin McHugh apparently told him his shirt was “not working.” So he grabbed a black button-up shirt from his closet to wear instead. In the car, he realized that the shirt felt too big.
“And he realized it was one of the shirts Kelly [Rizzo, Bob’s wife] had given him out of Bob’s closet,” Sweetin recalled. “Bob always had a black button-up on … and it was Bob’s shirt. So Bob was there in a weird little way.”
She added that she hugged Stamos and kissed the shirt, saying, “Bob’s here, too.” Stamos apparently told her that “Bob had to be here.” As Sweetin said in the interview, “I will forever remember every moment of that day.”

Sweetin Missed Bob’s Speech at Her Wedding
Before her wedding, Sweetin told People that Saget would have been the one to make a speech at her wedding. She shared that he gave speeches at other important events in her life, including her 13th birthday and her first wedding.
“It’s been Bob and John and Dave and the cast and my real parents, and that was like the family,” Sweetin said. “So yeah, he will definitely be missed, and I know he never liked to miss an opportunity to get up with a microphone.”
Saget’s wife Kelly Rizzo was in attendance, however. She commented on Sweetin’s Instagram later, “What a honor it was to be there and celebrate your love… I know Bob was right by my side. Love you so much.”
Both Sweetin and Saget competed on talent shows. Sweetin competed on Season 22 of Dancing with the Stars, placing sixth with partner Keo Motsepe. Saget, meanwhile, appeared as Squiggly Monster on Season 4 of The Masked Singer.
