Full House star and Dancing with the Stars alum Jodie Sweetin was shoved to the ground by the LAPD over the weekend while protesting the Supreme Court’s ruling to overturn Roe v. Wade. The moment was captured on video and shared on social media.

Jodie Sweetin Shoved by Police During Protest

Photographer Michael Ade captured the incident on video and shared it on Instagram. Ade wrote in the caption that Sweetin was “trying to lead a group of peaceful protestors away from the freeway.” In the clip, an officer can be seen pushing Sweetin off the curb.

Sweetin falls to the ground and is helped up by her fellow protestors. Several people shout at the police, with one asking, “What the f*ck is wrong with you?” Sweetin stands up and puts her hat back on before the crowd chants, “No justice, no peace!”

The protest, like many others around the country, was sparked by the Supreme Court’s Friday ruling to overturn Roe v. Wade, the 1973 decision which protected the right to abortion. This ruling gives individual states the power to enact their own abortion policies.

Sweetin Releases Statement Following Video

Sweetin’s representative told People that she is all right after the incident with police. The actress also reposted the video on her own Instagram account and released a statement regarding the protests.

“I’m extremely proud of the hundreds of people who showed up yesterday to exercise their First Amendment rights and take immediate action to peacefully protest the giant injustices that have been delivered from our Supreme Court,” Sweetin said. “Our activism will continue until our voices are heard and action is taken. This will not deter us, we will continue fighting for our rights. We are not free until ALL of us are free.”

In Sweetin’s Twitter bio, she describes herself as (among other things) an activist and a “Hater of Fascism, Lover of Humanity.”
