Jenna Johnson Shares Why Val Chmerkovskiy Went to the Hospital

Dancing with the Stars pro Val Chmerkovskiy recently spent his first Father’s Day in the hospital. His wife and fellow dancer Jenna Johnson took to Instagram stories to update fans about why he had to go to the emergency room.
Jenna Johnson Updates Fans About Val Chmerkovskiy’s Health
On Sunday, Johnson filled in for Chmerkovskiy’s brother Maksim at their wine-themed show in Napa. (Maksim was with his wife Peta Murgatroyd as she gave birth to their second child.) After they performed together, Chmerkovskiy made a trip to the hospital.
According to Entertainment Tonight, Johnson took to Instagram stories on Monday to update fans about what happened, saying people had reached out with concern about Chmerkovskiy’s health.
“He is doing great today,” she said. “Basically, what had happened, he was violently ill for three whole days. And by violently ill, I mean he could not eat, first of all. Puked more than I’d ever seen anybody in my life throw up. It was insane.”
She went on to say that he felt this way while performing four shows over the weekend and was “completely spent.” He went to the emergency room to “check on his vitals.” Johnson said the hospital “loaded him with fluids and some IVs, and he is feeling so much better today.”

The Family Celebrated Father’s Day Late
Because Chmerkovskiy was sick on Father’s Day, the family postponed their celebration until Monday, when they went out to brunch together. Johnson posted a photo of Chmerkovskiy holding their son Rome, who was born in January.
She also shared a photo of Chmerkovskiy eating a plate of bacon and eggs, writing, “Nothing like losin 10 lbs in three days.” In another post, Chmerkovskiy can be seen interacting with Rome in his stroller. Johnson called him “the best daddy” and wished him a happy late Father’s Day.
Father’s Day was also a cause for celebration as the couple welcomed their new nephew. Chmerkovskiy’s brother Maksim and his wife Peta Murgatroyd welcomed their second son together on Sunday.
