‘Idol’s Gabby Barrett And Cade Foehner Are Expecting Their First Baby

American Idol stars Gabby Barrett and Cade Foehner had some happy news to share this week. Gabby is pregnant with the couple’s first child together, less than a year after they were married.
Gabby, 20, posted the news on her Instagram account this weekend, along with some photos of her and Cade, 24, showing off her baby bump. The couple also revealed the baby’s sex to People magazine.
Gabby Barrett And Cade Foehner Are Having A Baby
“We are very excited,” Gabby told People about the baby news. “The Lord has blessed us with a little one, and we’re really excited to finally be able to share the news with everybody and just have a big old family celebration about it.”
The couple also shared that they’re expecting a baby girl, who is due early next year. They apparently found out Gabby was pregnant back in May. She took a test while the couple was visiting Cade’s family in Texas.
“I was like, ‘Wait, is that two lines?'” Gabby recalls. “I came running out to Cade and was just like, ‘Oh my gosh, I think I am.’ That’s all that I said, and he knew what that meant. I started crying, and it was very sweet.”
Cade shared that he and Gabby had “talked and prayed” about having kids, and started trying at the start of the pandemic. “We were expecting it to take a little while, and it seemed like the first try that it happened, so we were just so excited,” he said. “We were blown away that it worked so quickly. But yes, we were starting to plan on it, for sure.”
What Does The Future Have In Store?
Gabby and Cade said they won’t reveal their daughter’s name until after she’s born. Cade shared that he’s excited to have a daughter, saying, “I get to have two Gabbys! One’s not enough.”
The couple shared that their Christian faith will be an influence on their parenting, with Cade saying, “[We’re going to] create a culture of Jesus Christ around our kids and show how we are to live in accordance with his lordship over the Earth.”

The couple met while competing on Season 16 of American Idol in 2018. They got married last October. They apparently have plans to perform together, saying they look forward to “a family rodeo in a tour bus.”
They might even work on a song inspired by their expanding family. “We’ve just been really letting this settle in,” Gabby told People. “But maybe there’s a potential song in the future made about it.”
