Reading Time: 2 minutes
Chayce Beckham is blowing up the charts with his original song “23.” The pride of Apple Valley performed the song for the first time on Sunday’s episode of American Idol. When the song was released, Chayce saw it rocket all the way to the first spot on the iTunes Top 100 Country Songs Chart. Now, it has also landed a spot at the top of the iTunes Top 100 Songs Chart, ahead of Idol judge Luke Bryan.
‘American Idol’s Chayce Beckham Dominates the Charts with Original Song “23”
Chayce has been very consistent in the competition. First, performing an original song during the show’s Mother’s Day episode. He did not hold back with his new song “23,” sharing his personal story and relationship with alcohol in the lyrics. His humbleness and cool country guy vibes have landed him atop two separate iTunes charts ahead of several of the world’s most popular artists.
Bryan’s song “Waves,” which he performed last week on American Idol sits at Number 24 on the Top 100 Songs Chart and Number 7 on the Top 100 Country Songs Chart. It’s not often that a contestant’s song bests the current CMA Entertainer of the Year.
Chayce also managed to beat out Nicki Minaj; Kelly Clarkson and Jake Hoot’s duet; Ian Flanigan and Blake Shelton’s duet; and Olivia Rodrigo to top these charts. This comes after Ian and Shelton as well as Jake and Clarkson all performed their songs on The Voice this week.
If his chart standing is any indicator of what the results will be during Sunday night’s American Idol finale, Apple Valley might be welcoming home a winner. Truthfully, Chayce has already won with his song completely blowing up and growing a fanbase from all over the world. His American Idol bestie Graham DeFranco definitely agrees.
