Carrie Underwood is currently trending online due to a photo alleging that she had rules to follow while performing at a now-abandoned nightclub. Here’s how realistic these claims are and how they relate to Underwood in current day.

Carrie Underwood Show Rules go Viral

On January 13, 2026, a photo allegedly found in a rural Arkansas abandoned nightclub is gaining traction online. The photo was first posted on Reddit’s r/FoundPaper community, then was reshared to R/Signs, as well as X.

The image, as shown in the original post shares 8 rules for Underwood. The first involves Underwood must have an adult with her at all times, followed by her being restricted from the bar. Numbers three and four include Underwood not being served alcohol directly to her, or at the table she’s sitting at. Rule five once again reiterates Underwood having no alcohol on stage while she’s performing.

The remaining three bullets state that Underwood is allowed to sign pictures or anything else that is for sale as long as an adult is with her. Allegedly these rules were made by ABC, and DJ Dave was told to enforce them. In addition, the Reddit User shared that this paper was found in the DJ booth closet.

At the time of writing, the Reddit thread as 17 thousand upvotes with 1,200 comments. Since the original post, it has also been shared to R/Sign where it has amassed 42 upvotes and 72 comments. In addition, this has been shared to X where it’s gained 17 thousand likes, and 244 reposts.

Is Carrie Underwood Sober in 2026?

Due to the nature of the original Reddit post, it can be assumed that the now abandoned nightclub has been out of business for quite some time. According to the original Reddit user, they were exploring a building that used to be called “The North 40” in Russellville Arkansas when he came across the the paper. It’s uncertain when this nightclub closed.

The original publisher of the R/Signs thread in the comments alleges that the rule sheet was “like from 2007- it’s not new.” This lead to a debate in the comments, since Underwood was aged 21 when she auditioned for American Idol in 2004. Also, it’s important to note that Underwood took part in American Idol when the show aired on FOX, not ABC. ABC did not take over American Idol until 2018.

Ultimately, this was debunked because ABC is not the cable network in this instance. Instead, it’s the rules of the Alcoholic Beverage Control. Apparently, when underage performers are allowed to perform in situations where alcohol may be present, posts like these will be in place. It’s typically for the safety of the bar/nightclubs liquor license.

Regardless, this rule sheet seems hard to believe since Underwood was 24 years of age in 2007.

Is This a Real Sign?

At the time of writing, it is unknown whether this post is entirely true. There are multiple fans of the thread in the R/Sign comments attempting to debunk the rumors, saying it’s a “well known fake contract on a sign subreddit,” they also said the post is a “Weird karma farming attempt.”

“This isn’t a real contract,” a Reddit User responded on the R/Sign post. “This has been debunked and has been going around the internet for years. It’s also NOT a sign…”

“These comments truly show how gullible the average Redditor is because this is beyond obviously fake,” another Redditor commented, after seeing multiple comments saying “Carrie Underage.”

This is still a developing story.
