Actor Will Smith recently responded to a wrongful termination lawsuit brought against him by former America’s Got Talent violinist Brian King Joseph by laughing. TMZ shared a clip of the moment, in which Smith responded to a question about Joseph.
Brian King Joseph Is Suing Will Smith for Wrongful Termination
Brian King Joseph is an electric violinist who placed third in Season 13 of America’s Got Talent. Joseph recently filed a lawsuit against Will Smith, claiming he was fired from the actor’s tour after reporting a sexual harassment incident.
According to TMZ, Joseph was hired to perform on Smith’s Based on a True Story tour. However, after checking into a hotel in Las Vegas in March 2025, Joseph claims he found evidence that someone had gained access to his room and left a handwritten note which read, “Brian, I’ll be back…just us.” It was signed by “Stone F” with a heart shape.
The violinist also reportedly found “wipes, a beer bottle, a red backpack, a bottle of HIV medication with another individual’s name, an earring, and hospital discharge paperwork belonging to a person unbeknownst to” him.
Fearing he would be the target of unwanted sexual acts, Joseph reported the incident to hotel security. Afterward, he was apparently confronted by an associate of Smith who accused him of lying about the break-in. Joseph was ultimately fired from the tour.

Smith Laughed Off Joseph’s Lawsuit
TMZ recently shared video of Will Smith being asked about Joseph’s lawsuit against him. As Smith was getting into a car in London, a photographer asked him how he responds to Joseph’s allegations. Smith replied by laughing.
Smith’s attorney, Allen B. Grodsky, previously told TMZ that Joseph’s claims against him were “false, baseless, and reckless,” adding, “They are categorically denied, and we will use all legal means available to address these claims and to ensure that the truth is brought to light.”
At the end of December, before his lawsuit was reported publicly, Joseph shared an Instagram video hinting at the situation and telling anyone who might be afraid to speak up about something similar, “I see you.”
