The track, called “Cowboy Back,” will be released this Friday, October 6. Fans can pre-save the song now. It’s actually been over a year now since Barrett first teased the song on Instagram, writing, “Album #2 at work.” Does this mean we can expect an album announcement soon?
Fans shared their excitement over the song’s upcoming release, with one Instagram user writing, “I’ve been looking forward to this song for so long.” Another wrote of the track’s sound, “It’s givin me 2000 Shania Twain Vibes.”
Barrett released her debut album Goldmine in 2020. Earlier this year, she released the single “Glory Days.”

Barrett and her husband, fellow Idol alum Cade Foehner, announced in August that they’re currently expecting their third child together. The couple already has a 2-year-old daughter named Baylah May and a son named Augustine Booth who is about to turn 1.
The singer has since revealed that she’s having another girl this time, telling People that she’s due to give birth in February of next year. Barrett said her biggest challenge as a mother is “loss of sleep,” adding, “So it’s just a matter of being prepared to lose that sleep at first, but you regain it back, so it’s good.”
