Dancing with the Stars has officially announced that Jan Ravnik will be joining the show as a new pro for Season 34 of the show. Ravnik is best known for working as a backup dancer on Taylor Swift’s hugely popular Eras Tour.
Jan Ravnik Joins DWTS as a New Pro for Season 34
On Thursday, the official Dancing with the Stars Instagram account posted the news that Jan Ravnik is joining the show as a pro for Season 34, which premieres September 16 on ABC and Disney+. In addition to a photo of Ravnik, the post also includes a video message from the dancer.
“Hey, Dancing with the Stars family,” Ravnik says in the brief clip. “My name is Jan Ravnik and I am a new addition for this season, and I am very excited.”
Ravnik also reacted to the official Instagram announcement by writing in the comments, “Can’t wait!!” DWTS co-host Julianne Hough wrote, “Welcome to the fam.” Fellow pro Ezra Sosa wrote, “CONGRATULATIONS JAN.”
The full cast for this season of the show has yet to be announced, so we don’t know at this time which celebrity Ravnik will be paired with. As of this writing, Ravnik is the only new pro to be announced this year. The full roster of pros will be revealed at the same time as the celebrity cast, September 3 on Good Morning America.

Ravnik Was a Dancer on Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour
Ravnik is originally from Slovenia. According to Variety, he has performed with artists such as Mariah Carey, Paula Abdul, and Bruno Mars. Ravnik was featured on the 97th Academy Awards and Mariah Carey Christmas: The Magic Continues.
The dancer is best known for his involvement in Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour, which kicked off in March 2023 and ran into late 2024. Ravnik drew fans’ attention with his sexy ladder dance during the Midnights portion of the show, and he also got to dance one-on-one with Swift as she performed “Fortnight.”
According to Today, Ravnik is also a popular fancast for the character Rhysand from the fantasy romance novel A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas. Ravnik himself used the hashtag #rhysand in a TikTok video earlier this year.
