Escape Artist Matt Johnson Extends His ‘World’s Best’ Cliffhanger For A James Corden Interview
Reading Time: 2 minutes
If you watched the premiere of The World’s Best after the Super Bowl on Sunday, you were likely tearing your hair out during escape artist Matt Johnson’s act. The former Britain’s Got Talent contestant was in the middle of escaping from a tank full of water when the show ended on a cliffhanger.
We’ll have to wait until Wednesday’s new episode to see how it ends. In the meantime, Matt made an appearance on The Late Late Show Monday night to talk to James Corden, who also happens to host The World’s Best. To keep the suspense going just a little bit longer, Matt appeared in his water tank.
Unfortunately, Matt couldn’t exactly answer James’ questions with more than a shrug or a thumbs up, considering he was submerged in water with a chain around his neck. But that didn’t stop James from dragging things out and making our hearts stop all over again.
“Knock on the glass once if you’ll be okay, twice if you won’t be okay,” he told Matt after asking if he can make it until Wednesday. Matt very clearly gave two knocks.
Of course, unless he’s secretly a merman, we can be pretty sure he makes it out of that tank alive on The World’s Best — since he was around to film this interview. If you’re wondering how nail-biting his act can get, just watch him do a similar routine on Britain’s Got Talent last year. Then get comfortable on the edge of your seat for Wednesday’s new episode at 8/7c on CBS.
