‘DWTS’ Recap: Louis Van Amstel’s Return to The Ballroom Was Short Lived
Reading Time: 3 minutes
The Dancing With the Stars competition is officially getting tight for celebrities of this season. While stars like Charli D’Amelio and Wayne Brady continue to shine on stage, Trevor Donovan and Jordin Sparks have stepped up to the occasion.
Charli D’Amelio and her partner Mark Ballas kicked off the competition for James Bond night and they definitely did not disappoint. This pair has been the one to beat, so many were excited to see their Rumba. Even though Charli talked about how she isn’t the “eye contact and sultry type” ahead of the performance, the pair was awarded 33 of 40 points. Bruno Tonioli gave them the first nine of the season.
Cheryl Ladd and Louis Van Amstel clearly returned to the stage for redemption. After nearly getting eliminated last episode, they returned with a simple, yet elegant Rumba. The judges immediately complimented the two, saying it was their best dance yet. They earned 24 out of 40 points.
Derek Hough Calls Emma Slater, Trevor Donovan The Dark Horse of the Competition
Emma and Trevor performed the first Tango of the night and it was nothing short of hot and steamy. This pair has definitely sparked even more dating rumors, since the judges’s comments on Trevor’s concentration on Emma. This might have been my favorite dance of theirs, but the judges didn’t agree since they scored the pair three points lower than last week.
Jordin Sparks and her partner Brandon Armstrong surprised with their sensual Rumba. After various weeks of the competition, the dancers give off more of a brother-sister vibe than anything else. This dance truly pushed them out of their comfort zone and it showed when the judges gave them a higher score than previous weeks.
Ahead of tonight’s episode of Dancing With the Stars, it was revealed that Selma Blair fainted before rehearsal this week. Selma is truly defying the odds week by week on this show. Even though many could see multiple sclerosis (ms) as something that could affect dances, this celebrity has repeatedly given fabulous performances.
Shangela was able to have a cute full circle moment on this week’s episode. The drag star‘s grandmother originally compared her to Tina Turner, so it’s only right that she and Gleb Savchenko danced to one of Turner’s songs for James Bond night. The pair’s steamy Rumba earned them 30 of 40 points.
Charlie’s Angels Star Cheryl Ladd Faces Elimination on Bond Night
The bottom two couples of the night were Cheryl Ladd and Louis Van Amstel, and Sam Champion and Cheryl Burke. After judge deliberations, the panel decided to eliminate Cheryl and Louis. Even though the pair came back with a better dance than last week, they repeatedly scored lower than Sam and Cheryl.
Dancing With the Stars returns to Disney+ on Monday, October 10 at 8 p.m. ET. Next week, the cast of the series will celebrate Disney, in honor of the streaming network.
I have watched DWTS since the first season. I won’t be watching this season because I am not paying to watch it plus there is nothing else on Disney + that I want to watch. I really miss watching the show. Mary
