Demi Lovato Gets New Short Form Talk Show on the Roku Channel
Reading Time: 2 minutes
The drastic evolution of Demi Lovato has led their career down a number of different paths. The “Dancing with the Devil” singer and former X Factor judge is known for their activism in body positivity, queer rights, substance abuse, and mental health. The artist will now take on a new challenge by debuting their very own talk show.
The Demi Lovato Show set for Quibi will premiere on the Roku Channel July 30. This is the first of over a dozen Roku Originals set for the platform. The show will cover all the topics Lovato has become passionate about over the years. Featuring special guests and field experts, The Demi Lovato Show will break the mold on real, raw conversations.
Demi Lovato’s Eventful Year
Lovato has had quite the year already. They have released an album, documentary series, and even an alien-hunting reality series. For the new show, Lovato will deliver an honest perspective on life. The ten minute episodes will feature topics including feminism, sexuality, and, of course, UFOs. Spooky, right?
Jameela Jamil, Lucy Hale, and Nikita Dragun are just some of the guests already scheduled to appear on the show.
“Some conversations can be difficult, but I’ve never been one to shy away from speaking candidly about things,” Lovato told Deadline. “We wanted to create a space that normalizes living your own truth – where people can speak, engage and, more importantly, learn, together.”
Lovato Brings Activism, Inclusion to New Talk Show
Lovato has never been one to shy away from conflict. Their personal vendetta against a local frozen yogurt shop is a noteworthy example. More recently, Lovato has been cracking down on the importance of people using their preferred pronouns.
Last week, Lovato hosted YouTube Pride Party 2021 alongside a number of guest hosts. All proceeds were donated to The Trevor Project. During pride month they also collaborated with Propeller, an organization that exists to motivate change within the community. Fans can expect to see this same energy brought to the new show.
“There’s something therapeutic about having raw discussions that people can relate to and with The Demi Lovato Show no topics are off limits and opinions are welcome,” she said. “I’m so excited for people to see how these conversations unfold on the Roku Channel.”
All of the projects Lovato has been a part of within the past year will surely fuel the content for The Demi Lovato Show. The original series seems to be nothing short of interesting. With topics ranging from sex to aliens, this ten-minute show has definitely captured my attention.
