Two months after welcoming Wren Alexander via surrogate, Chrissy Teigen is not cutting any connection with his gestational carrier, Alexandra. The cookbook author recently detailed the Legend family’s admirable friendship with Alexandra and her kids.
Chrissy Teigen is Still in Contact with His Son Wren’s Surrogate
Speaking to People, the supermodel revealed that she communicates with Wren’s surrogate mother up to this day. According to Teigen, she keeps Alexandra updated about their family through little chitchats on social media.
“We talk all the time, constantly on a nice little text exchange,” she said. “She sees all my Instagram Stories and I try to send her little pictures behind the scenes. I told her at the beginning of this journey, I wanted someone who would be there for birthday parties and throughout life.”
Teigen went on and gushed about her children’s genuine friendship with Alexandra’s kids. Such “fantastic atmosphere” is something that Teigen always sees to have with “anybody” in their house.
“Whether it’s nannies or my mother living with us, or my friends that are in the house or security or whatever, I want an atmosphere where everybody feels really comfortable in our home and that extended to her,” she said. “I wanted her to feel like she could take off her shoes and kick up her feet on our couch. We could watch TV together and my daughter could play with her daughter up in her room. It felt like she could come over anytime, and I feel like we do still have that relationship. It’s been really wonderful.”
While Teigen knows that every family has its own dynamics, she wants to raise her kids “a little different from what other parents do.” Apparently, the supermodel has heard “stories” on how surrogacy worked for others, saying she’s happy theirs “turned out the way it turned out.”
She Shares Struggles of Having Four Kids
After welcoming baby no. 4, Teigen and husband John Legend knew that they had to be wiser parents. According to the supermodel, they wanted to ensure that they give their kids equal attention.
“For me, the hardest part is making sure the older ones feel loved and taken care of and just as special as the babies, even though you might have your hands on the babies a lot more,” she said.
As per Teigen, “lot of diaper changing and feeding” may appear like they’re giving more love to the two little babies. With that, wanted to make sure that “Miles and Luna feel like we still love them.”
Elsewhere in the interview, Teigen also cleared up that she’s not a jealous mother. Hence, whenever her kids have close relationships with others, she rather feels lucky than envious.
“I was never one of those people who believe in hoarding all of this love for myself,” she said. “I don’t get jealous when my children love on somebody else or hug them. To me, more love is more love and that’s what I’ve always wanted and it’s been really working out for us. We’re so lucky.”
